I am an ecologist with research interests in the field of macroecology, biogeography, and biodiversity conservation. I am particularly interested in scale-dependence of biodiversity patterns and in understanding processes driving biodiversity dynamics at different spatial and temporal scales. Given the current biodiversity crisis, a thorough investigation of the processes relevant to biodiversity dynamics across spatial and temporal scales is perhaps more important than ever. Rigorous predictions of the consequences of climate change and habitat loss and sound strategies for the future biodiversity conservation also rely on our understanding of the mechanisms relevant to biodiversity.
